Are you dense?

How does it influence you that it is released ? you don't have to get it.

have you actually missed the little fact that they have been working on Nightfall for 9 months already?

as for being too early many people dont like Factions or have gotten only a small amount from it.

i am one of those PVE people who has felt the pinch here and Nightfall which was stated as having much more for the PVE side of the game cant come too soon.

if you dont like it or think it is rushed wait until you are sure you want it before buying it.

Just think, they've been working on Nightfall since they got done with the sorrows furnace update (i think they said that) and chapter 2 was already being worked on before that, just be happy this games being made by the ones that made the original, which is why i think it'll be great

Seeing as I only have one serious character (a monk, which made getting through the game very quick) I eagerly await this expansion.

I can understand the worry of those people with 4-6 characters though.

I agree. Too many missions require 2-3 people just to carry bundles. (Gyala Hatchery anyone?). Even at this point, I find myself getting to a Factions mission at what would normally be considered a peak hour, and there is only one district with a small handful of players in it. What makes matters worse is that, in Factions, everyone and their dog is playing either an assassin or a ritualist of some sort, making potential teams unbalanced.

This is only going to get worse as players spread themselves over 3 chapters.
Guild Wars may have over 2 million accounts, but this does not imply 2 million active players. Moreover, this unknown number of active players are all spread out over multiple regions (America, Europe, Korea, etc.) and you rarely see any in international districts. I'm not saying that the expansions are coming out too fast, but the sparsity of players is increasing the difficulty in forming a half-decent PUG.

ArenaNet needs to come up with a solution that will allow players to progress through any campaign without being too dependant on other people being around, wanting to achieve exactly the same goal.

I'm just glad Nightfall is coming out soon. I've beaten Factions in five weeks with all my characters and then the next month, I got bored with it. I didn't had much else to do in the game. When August hits, Nightfall is only two or three months away and I'm ready for it. The six month period is going as planned, so Nightfall isn't coming out "too" soon, it's just time is going by quickly. If you're not paying attention to the date.

Yeah, some people just log-on and sit around ingame for a long time while ignoring their other characters to finish the game too. Then complain Nightfall is coming out too early.

GW: Prophecies Release: April 26th,2005
GW: Factions Release: April 28th, 2006 ( almost exactly 1yr after Prophecies )
GW: Nightfall Preview: July 28th (exactly 3months after factions hmmm)
Estimated Release Date for NF: October 28th, 2006

ok here is the thing people are complaining about how prophecies took a long time while factions took a very short amount of time. ok prophecies was made for pve while factions was made for pvp. it even says that on the guildwars website. in my opinion the should make nightfall a branching path adventure where u can choose to either go along the short root and be a more pvp centered game or take a long root and it would be a more pve

Factions took one full year having been started on the release of GW April 28 th 2005

Nightfall will also have one full year of work having been started 6 months after Factions was started.

chapter 4 was started on the release of Factions almost 3 months ago and will release on GW second anniversary of april 28 th 2007

EDIT

or were you talking about time to do the game?

Well the thing is every time Anet says they're going to release something on a date on a time period like After summer it always ends up to be much later.

Players: When is Nightfall coming?
Anet: At abot after summer
*Nightfall is released in Dec. 11th*

I believe that A-Net's goal IS to release the expansions too close together. Factions was released one year after Prophecies, therefore most, if not all, people who had bought the game had finished it. When Factions came out, the continent was completely swarmed, and Tyria was nearly deserted, save for the route to the crystal desert and the nescessary elite caps. In releasing expansions so close together they have created a system where entire continents arent competely deserted, spacing out the economy.

Besides, with a standalone game out every six months, in no time at all Futureshop and EB games will give them their own shelf or case, making the series much more interesting to walk-in's

Hm, I've never really considered that before. Very interesting. Something about a shelf of Gild Wars makes me happy inside.

i think its a good thing expansions come quickly. it satisfies those who have already exhausted factions, and it provides those who havent with more things to do so they dont run into the wall the rushers make for themselves by burning out all the content too fast.

its good for pvp as well *puts up flame shield*. it makes sure the metagame is constantly shifting and wont become stagnant.

Personally I have to agree, more new skill combos make a new metagame. The new classes look to have some interesting effects on pvp and pve. The Dervish sounds like he will be a pve god with a lot of AoE attacks, but the Paragon doesn't sound too bad either with his buff skills and ranged dmg.

I look foward to the new PvE content since factions was all too short mission wise, but I do hope ANet keeps the idea that most people are level 20, so most missions in Nightfall will be geared towards that.

As long as ANet keeps pumping out interesting new skills and awesome looking worlds I will keep buying ( new classes don't hurt either ).

Every 6 months is a healthy time frame for new GW chapters, the only reason why people think its to soon is because it has been mentioned while Factions is still a little fresh. Trust me, after 6 months you will be happy to see Nightfall, and if you're not dont buy it until you are ready or if you want it at all.
